If you are among those who believe the Patriots and Tom Brady are “getting what they deserve,” think about this for a second.
The NFL has been home to racist owners, players who are convicted druggies, alcoholics who continue to drive drunk get in accidents and get arrested, players convicted of assault and battery, players carrying illegal weapons, owners who pay bounties payable for injury to opposing players, and shooting incidents, and gambling incidents, players abusing their spouses, and there are even those who have been accused of murder and only getting off when the witnesses disappear.
And the heaviest penalty ever given out by the league has been for underinflated footballs, and then without even proving anything.
Seems as if there might be something wrong about that.

Screw Tom Brady and the Patriots

When this “investigation” started what I thought happened should call for the team to be fined around half a million, lose a draft pick or two ,and Brady being suspended for a couple of games. Passed penalties handed out in the history of the NFL not taken into consideration. That being said. I also thought what could be proven should result in Brady being suspended one game for not cooperating. Weather or not you think he should have to turn over his phone the comish has the right to ask for it and call a refusal uncooperative. Yes I think Brady cheated!! It’s like putting grease on a baseball or cork in the bat. He caused more then the balls to be deflated. I lost a lot of enthusiasm for this team. I’m not exactly sure why but I have. Asked if he cheated ” I don’t think so” The team and Brady should fight the severity of the suspension and loss of two draft picks. In my mind that’s understandable. In my mind they can’t fight the guilt. Proven or not Brady is guilty in my mind and the team has some responsibility in Brady’s actions.

Why is there a rule that
theootballs should be a certain pounds per square inch? Why can’t we let the teams all decide how inflated they want the balls?

They do to some degree. It started in 2006 when Brady P. Manning and Drew Breese pushed the league to allow visiting team to inflate their on balls. Of course you know that. What I wonder about is how long after 2006 it took these QBs to start playing with the rules. More important when will the league go back to one set of balls for both teams and if you don’t like the squeeze become a place kicker.

Let’s just get it behind us and move on. I’m still going to cheer for Tom and the Patriots. Life is full of ‘stuff’. Deal with it and move ahead. The story is now annoying and no longer entertaining.
